Employee & Family Assistance Program
Statement of Confidentiality
In all of our counselling relationships, we adhere to strict standards of confidentiality. No information shared, or disclosed, by you to any counsellor or staff member of the LMARS will be divulged to any third party.
You may, however, give permission to your counsellor to have contact with a professional service provider or other individuals, as designated by you. If you want to do this, your counsellor will provide you with a Release of Information form, which will verify that you have signed, dated, informed, and provided written consent for LMARS to have the contact.
There may be exceptions when LMARS must provide information with or without your consent. First, LMARS is bound by the Criminal Code of Canada to report cases of physical and/or sexual abuse of children to the proper authorities, if we become award of such abuse. Second, if we feel that you are a danger to yourself or others, we are ethically bound to take appropriate action.
